The Best Little Poboy House in Port Allen began in 1984 as a small restaurant owned and operated by Sharon and Bruce Broussard.  Initially the restaurant was a two employee establishment serving lunch to about thirty Port Allen locals per day.  However, through years of family ownership and commitment to quality, the business grew creating the need for more employees; naturally Bruce and Sharon brought their children Michael and Melanie in to assist in daily operations.

In 2003 the business moved to the corner of
6th St. and California Avenue where it remains a staple lunch establishment. Now with well over two hundred daily patrons from Port Allen, as well as Downtown Baton Rouge and surrounding areas we are still committed to the very highest quality of food with reasonable down home prices.
In 2005 we added another member to our family ownership, Blair Kornegay, a Baton Rouge native who was classically trained at The Culinary Institute of America in New York.  Together Michael and Blair have assumed the positions of manager-owners and oversee daily operations.  Between the two they have over 32 years of restaurant and customer service experience.

Our menu includes Southern-style cuisine such as poboys, salads, soups, desserts, and daily plate lunch specials all created from scratch with the finest ingredients available.  In July 2005 we began offering catering services for weddings, office lunches, meetings, to-go meals for working families, in home cooking classes, and many other custom created services.  As always, it is our distinct pleasure to provide all of our guests with the freshest, fastest, and best quality lunch for the best price around.  We look forward to seeing you again soon.
